It’s better to be prepared for the future than…to not be. This is mostly the result of running 2to3 on all .py files, with some small shims to maintain compatibility with Python 2. http_transport_test_server.py was slightly more involved, requiring many objects to change from “str” to “bytes”. The #! lines and invokers still haven’t changed, so these scripts will still normally be interpreted by Python 2.
